This society which began for a start by the pathological analysis of the peptic ulcer invited the 14th by this time, and the recent this society was wide as well as a peptic ulcer study, and it came to be given a presentation a study of the whole alimentary tract a lot. The name of the society is changed to International Conference of Gastrointestinal Research, and it is evaluated as an international society representing a gastrointestinal study by this society. In Japan, Japanese Gastroenterological Association (JGA) is organized, and the active study focused on the gastrointestinal tract is conducted. In the alimentary tract, many diseases must be settled is present. Inflammatory bowel disease, disease of small bowel, the disturbance of gastrointestinal motility are fields attracting attention most. By the development of capsule endoscope and the double-balloon endoscope, as for the small intestine, it develops in particular that unidentified much ulcer disease is present as well as the mucosal injury with the NSAID.

We bless the holding of this the 14th society in this Croatia and plan much participation from Japan.
